A Letter of Gratitude

Positive psychology has illustrated how expressing gratitude, such as through daily lists or giving thanks, can increase overall feelings of happiness and satisfaction. I show gratitude in my everyday life in different ways, and I would like to conclude this summer in the same way.

Dr. David Malone and Dane Emmerling

Supervisors, DukeEngage 2021

I am grateful to you both for fostering an intimate space for reflection last summer that prepared me to challenge myself through my Brodhead project.

Dr. Eve Puffer, Dr. Wanda Boone, Mahgul Mansoor, Gayane Baziyants, Wilter Rono, and Justin Rasmussen

I am grateful to this team for supporting me through this partnership and giving me the opportunity to learn from them.

Aaron Crouse and Kristin Wright

Fellowship Supervisors, Brodhead 2022

I am grateful to my Brodhead supervisors for motivating me to think creatively about how to have a community-centered project in a virtual setting, trusting me to stay engaged.

Chris Geary

I am grateful to my alumni mentor for making himself available to me as a resource and pushing me beyond my comfort zone as I look forward to my next steps.
